Squeeze - Up The Junction

Where did we leave off?  Ah, yes… That’s right.  After 50 weeks of songs and, as the clock strikes midnight, exactly six months of silence, Saturday Night Music Club is back.  Renewed, and hungry for another 50 more weeks of sonic sensations.

A lot has transpired since we last spoke, and far too much to dive into now.  Nobody wants to crack their head open on the shallow end floor, do they?  What I mean to say is, you’ll find out more in due time. In the meantime, as the TAI park district pool refills to safer and more desirable depths, deck chairs get primed and painted, towels Oxy-Cleaned and fresh-folded, let’s enjoy some music together… again.

Squeeze was a fantastic British band, writing smart pop songs from the late 70’s into the mid 90’s, and one of the many influences fueling Mike Carden and I as we write songs together.  This song is from their 2nd album, and in my opinion, another great example of a successful marriage between story-based lyric and sensible melody.  Clean out your ears, listen loud, and enjoy.
